When I mention that I’m a hypnotherapist, reactions vary. Many people confuse hypnosis with hypnotism—two words that share the same root as the Greek word hypnos (i.e. “sleep”), yet have completely different meanings. For some, the word “hypnotherapy” brings to mind images of theatrical performances where someone puts an audience to sleep or makes people… bark like dogs. But the truth couldn’t be further from that. Hypnotherapy—and the RTT method by extension—has nothing to do with tricks or mind control. It is a safe, scientifically grounded, and collaborative way to access the subconscious and reprogram limiting beliefs.
Stage hypnosis is about entertainment, showmanship, and dramatic effects. Hypnosis, however, is a natural state of focused relaxation. You experience it every day—when you lose yourself in thought, get absorbed in a movie, enter a state of deep prayer, or engage in meditation. Hypnotherapy uses this very mental state—of total focus and deep relaxation—to access the subconscious and create real, lasting change. Change that aligns with what you truly want.
The RTT method (Rapid Transformational Therapy®) uses hypnosis for therapeutic purposes—not entertainment. You don’t “lose” control. On the contrary—you regain it. During a session, you are fully aware. It is a clear, conscious experience. After all, every RTT session is interactive and personalized. Among other issues (read more in Transformation Through RTT), RTT is also highly effective in addressing sleep disorders.
